Styliani - Liana Milioti PT, PhD, NDT-Bobath EBTA Senior Tutor
Styliani - Liana Milioti graduated from the Department of Physiotherapy of the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki Greece in 1977.
In 1992 she became a Coordinator Instructor on the NDT/ BOBATH Approach, allowing her to teach NDT-Bobath courses worldwide and in September 2005 she acquired the title of EBTA Senior NDT-Bobath Tutor allowing her to train new NDT-Bobath Tutors worldwide.
In 2008 was awarded to her the Ph.D. diploma from the University of Brunel U.K. with the title «Long-term neuromotor outcome in full term infants with prolonged central sleep apnoeas». The PhD research study was conducted in the Department of Developmental Physiology of the Karl-Franzens University Graz Austria under the supervision of the Prof. H. Prechtl and C. Einspieler.
She has attended many postgraduate courses for training in different methods and techniques related to physiotherapy assessment and treatment (e.g. Mackenzie, PNF, Sensory Integration, Conductive education, Craniosacral therapy, Myofascial release, Kinesio Taping, Motor control & Motor learning and others).
Forty-seven years is the total time of her occupational activities on the subject of “physiotherapy intervention in patients suffering from CNS damage and especially in children suffering from Cerebral Palsy and other developmental disorders».
For approximately 30 years she taught at the Physiotherapy Department of the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki Greece as a Professor of Physiotherapy and one year at the European University of Cyprus.
She has taught internationally (Greece, Mexico, Argentina, Cyprus, Austria, Poland, Romania, and others) in more than 50 NDT-Bobath Basic courses, NDT-Bobath Baby courses and other courses related to Physiotherapy Assessment, Typical and Atypical - Abnormal Human Movement, Typical and Atypical sensory motor Development, and other topics related to pediatric Neurorehabilitation. She has participated as an invited lecturer in over 50 National and International congresses and symposia.
She has published three research papers having approximately 140 citations.
She was a member of the team that translated the Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) and F-Words.
She is a member of the European NDT - Bobath Tutors Association (EBTA). From 1994 to 1996 she was a president of the Greek NDT – Bobath Association (EENA) and from 2006 to 2010 member of the Executive Committee of the European NDT-Bobath Tutors Association (EBTA).
From September 2024 she is a member of the EBTA Educational Committee.
